Backbends are some of the yoga world's most elegant and demanding postures. When skillfully executed, backbends will enliven and inspire.
In this two-hour workshop, Fiona Farnsworth will explore a progression of full flexion backbends through powerful developmental movement patterns and asana.
Collectively, we will move with awareness and explore spinal motion, hip mobility, and best practice to create safe, expansive arm-overhead backbends with clarity and without strain.
Looking at key concepts and techniques, we will look at the approach to building strength to find equanimity and alignment in the postures.
You'll learn how to create length in the body for easeful extension and deepen your backbends with targeted shoulder-opening work leaving you feeling invigorated in mind, body, and spirit.
